Confessions of the Spiritually Underqualified

This isn’t a church.
This isn’t a cult.
There’s no doctrine, no dress code, no plate to pass around.
Just sermons.
Kind of.

Every week, I write and post a new confession. Not to convert you, but to say what a lot of us are quietly thinking:

“I’m tired.”
“I don’t know what I believe.”
“I’m not sure I’m doing any of this right.”

Sound familiar?

Good. You belong here.

Testimonials

Blue-collar dad – “Darren, 49, Wagga Wagga, diesel mechanic”
Not sure what it means, but I like that it doesn’t take itself too seriously. I’d give it a listen if it’s not preachy
Gen Z Uni Student – “Mira, 22, Sydney, studying Psych”
This sounds like the podcast my soul didn’t know it needed. Is it like, funny or real? I’m already following. Also, spiritually underqualified is such a mood.
Ex-Pastor Turned Atheist Blogger – “Eloise, 44, Melbourne”
That’s… annoyingly brilliant. Self-aware, satirical, and invites curiosity. The kind of title that cuts through both bullshit and sanctimony. Subscribed
Rural Aussie Battler – “Nev, 59, lives off-grid with chickens”
Spiritually underqualified’? Mate, I’ve been saying that since ‘82. I like it. Bit of humour, bit of truth. Doesn’t preach. I’m in
Former Churchgoer – “Margaret, 66, retired teacher”
It’s cheeky, but kind of comforting. I used to go to church but lost interest years ago. This sounds like someone telling the truth, not selling a ticket to heaven
Overthinker with Anxiety – “Joel, 32, graphic designer”
This name is a direct attack on me personally. I’m spiritually underqualified, emotionally overqualified, and probably already two sermons behind.
Inner-city Creative – “Kai, 35, non-binary, Fitzroy”
It’s got strong zine energy. Like something stapled together in a café bathroom and somehow… perfect. I’d love this as an Instagram page or poetry account
True Crime Fan Who’s Burnt Out – “Jess, 28, Newcastle”
Okay but if this was a podcast I’d click it just based on the title. It sounds like weird church stories mixed with self-help and wine
Stressed Single Mum – “Rachel, 38, Brisbane”
I don’t have time for BS. But this feels like something I could read at night and not feel judged. And it’s funny. I’d share this with my sister
Doomscroller Needing a Break – “Ash, 27, retail worker, Adelaide”
Scrolled past it. Stopped. Scrolled back. Followed. That name’s got something. It’s like it knows what kind of week I’m having
